Give copies to a trusted travel companion<\/p>\n\n\n\n Keep copies of your itinerary also in separate locations<\/p>\n\n\n\n Divide credit cards into two separate locations, after you reach your destination <\/p>\n\n\n\n Do not keep credit cards in checked bags, ever!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Do not carry every piece of identifying documentation and payment methods in the only one place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Give digital versions of passport and drivers license to someone who is not also traveling so they can email the documents if needed<\/p>\n\n\n\n Use a hotel safe if available<\/p>\n\n\n\n Have a second email address to verify your identity with online purchasers and apps, not just verification via phone<\/p>\n\n\n\n When talking to a security officer note the person\u2019s name and badge #<\/p>\n\n\n\n Keep any medications in your travel on, and get refills before you travel if running low on anything<\/p>\n\n\n\n Do not travel with anything you\u2019d be broken hearted to lose, unless necessary<\/p>\n\n\n\n When traveling with a companion, consider sharing clothing among both suitcases<\/p>\n\n\n\n Other ideas I picked up from other travelers after I\u2019d arrived back home \u2013<\/p>\n\n\n\n Enroll in the U.S. State Department\u2019s Smart Traveler Program (STEP) \u2013 in case of emergencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Look for undergarments with zippered compartments!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Addition on June 12, 2022 – get that replacement passport as soon as you get home!
